Commercial painting · Palm Beach County

A commercial painting contractor for Palm Beach County buildings that cannot close

Most trouble on a Palm Beach County repaint starts long before the first coat: a town board that wants to see the color, an ocean wind that strips weak paint, or tenants who need the doors open. Romco Builders works through those first, then quotes.

  • Romco Builders is a licensed Florida general contractor
  • Quotes for a single storefront or a full oceanfront tower
  • Every surface and its prep named in the written scope
  • Sequenced so offices, residents and guests carry on

What a good repaint depends on

Paint lasts as long as the wall under it allows

The finish is the last and shortest part of the work. Washing, repair, primer and a safe way to reach every wall take most of the effort, and on the coast they decide how long the color holds.

Prep listed surface by surface

Stucco cracks, spalled concrete edges, chalky old coats, rusted rails and failed joint sealant each get a line in the scope, with the repair they need before any color goes on.

Reach chosen from the building

A boom lift for a two-story plaza, scaffold for a courtyard, swing stage or rope access for a tower on A1A. We pick the method from height, setbacks and roof anchors before the quote is final.

People keep using the building

Condo owners, office tenants, hotel guests and travelers stay. Work is phased by floor, wing or elevation, with covered walkways and agreed quiet hours.

Color approved before it is bought

Town commissions, appearance boards, associations and brand guides can all have a say. We help gather the chips and drawings each one asks for, before any material is ordered.

How a job runs

The order of work, start to turnover

  1. Tell us about the building

Phone us or use the form. Say what needs painting, who will be inside, and send photos or drawings if you have them.

  2. Site visit

We check each surface, how the walls and rails can be reached, and what below them needs protection.

  3. Scope and written quote

You get the prep, coating system, access method and phasing in writing, plus the approvals the work depends on.

  4. Approvals cleared

Board or color sign-off, any permit the related repairs need, and badges or gate access are lined up first.

  5. Prep, prime and finish

Washing, repairs, primer and finish coats go on in the agreed order, with people and cars below kept clear of overhead work.

  6. Walk-through and closeout

Together we inspect the finished surfaces, clear the open items and leave you a written list of every coating applied.

Questions

Questions owners and managers ask first

What does it cost to paint a commercial building?

There is no rate sheet. The quote comes from a visit, or from photos and drawings when they show enough, and it turns on the condition of each surface, the repairs found after washing, the coating system, how every wall is reached, who stays inside and which approvals come first. Two Palm Beach County buildings of the same size can need very different work.

Is any job too small or too large in size?

No. Romco quotes a single storefront, a lobby or a stair tower, and it quotes the whole envelope of an oceanfront condo or a row of warehouse bays. Describe the building and the surfaces, and the scope is written to match.

Do I need a permit to repaint a commercial building?

Painting itself is not on the Florida Building Code's permit-exempt list, and the answer is set locally. Several towns here review exterior colors, the Town of Palm Beach among them, and concrete or stucco repairs found during prep can need a building permit of their own. We check the rule with the city or town, or with the county for unincorporated land, before work starts.

Is lead paint a concern on an older building?

It can be. The federal government banned lead paint for homes in 1978, so older coats may still hold it. EPA's RRP rule reaches paid jobs that disturb old paint in housing of that age and in places young children use regularly, a day care in an older plaza for example. Those jobs go to an EPA-certified firm using lead-safe practices, so we ask the building's age and tenants first.

How long will the work take?

We set a sequence after the site visit, not before. It turns on what the walls look like once washed, how much repair they need, rain, how each face is reached, whether a board must vote on colors, and which hours the building lets us work. Once those are known, you get the order of work with each dependency named.

Is Romco licensed to do this work?

Romco Builders is a licensed Florida general contractor with its office in Fort Lauderdale. Florida law does not let a city or county require a separate license for painting. Ask for the license details with your quote.

Can residents or tenants stay while the outside is painted?

In most buildings, yes. Work moves one elevation or one stack of balconies at a time, entrances under overhead work get covered walkways, residents get notice before their balcony is reached, and spray work is held back when the wind would carry it to cars or the pool deck.

Where in Palm Beach County will Romco quote work?

All of it: the coastal towns from Tequesta to Boca Raton, the inland cities such as Wellington, Royal Palm Beach and Greenacres, the Glades communities by Lake Okeechobee, and unincorporated county land. Pick a city on the areas page to read its local notes.
